LaStone offers a wide range of courses. For those new to Stone Therapy then we offer two courses.
The first is a two day course which looks at using alternating temperatures within a standard treatment. The main focus of this course is the application of stone placement and stone massage skills. Our four day programme goes a stage further and incorporates the unique energetic principles of LaStone

For those who have attended an ITEC or VTCT Stone Therapy course then we offer a three day conversion course which focuses on using alternating temperatures through the application of stones (1 day) and energetic principles (1 day) The third day is a specific treatment day which focuses on applying these skills into different treatments.

There are certain characteristics within our treatments that makes it unique. Here are just a few examples:
LaStone believes in using a combination of both heated and chilled stones within a treatment

LaStone UK - Original Body

LaStone Original Body Module 1 and 2 - 4 days in total - £450 -
These modules can be taken over 4 conscetutive days or in two seperate modules.

LaStone Original Body is our signature course. This 4 day training course, using hot and cold stones teaches therapists the physical principles of LaStone. Our hands on intensive training methods give you the theoretical principles and practical techniques to perform a prescriptive full body massage using the science of geothermotherapy.

LaStone Original Body treatments are ideal for therapists, salons and spas looking to personalise client treatments and opens up a whole new way to treat the body, mind and soul.

This course explores the use of alternating temperatures with associated energy work. It is the combination of the two that provides a unique massage treatment.

Module 1:
This module introduces you to the stones and their associated temperature. Course content includes:
•Composition of basalt and marble stones and their differing shapes and functions within a LaStone treatment •Health and Safety aspects within a Stone Treatment •Organisation of equipment in preparation for a treatment •Theoretical and practical work associated with Stone conduction. This will include spinal layouts and chakra placements within a treatment (stone conduction) •Practical massage skills on the application of hot and cold stones to the body (stone convection) •Practical skills on the different techniques used in stone convection within a treatment •Theoretical and practical aspects of Geo-thermotherapy principles •Energy Connections with Breath Supine •A LaStone supine and prone body treatment •Contraindications and considerations •How to Energise and Charge your Stones

Module 2:
This module introduces you to unique LaStone energetic principles involved within a LaStone treatment. It is the synergy of incorporating the stones, energy work and the use of breath within our treatment that makes our training and our treatments stand apart from other training courses. Course content includes:
•Theoretical and practical aspects of giving prescriptive treatments. This highlights that this course is so much more than a ‘hot stone massage course’ This aspect of the course illustrates that LaStone is a complete Therapy System. •Theoretical information on the LaStone Treatment Plan •The concept of castle building, and when to use it •Opening and closing spiral sequence •Recap the use of breath with energy connections supine and chakra placement •Energy connections prone •Spinal Spirals and Sealing •Smudging & Ceremonial Closing

LaStone UK - Deep Stone Course

LaStone Deep Stone - 4 days - £470
This course takes you on a journey into a deep tissue and temperature based treatment system, designed specifically to look at 43 specific muscle groups. This advanced course is for those wishing to extend their stone massage technique and extend their knowledge on geo-thermal therapy. It enables a therapist to offer so much more on their treatment menu and work much more prescriptively with their clients. The first module looks specifically at large muscle groups of the lower body. This allows the therapist time to master the site specific massage techniques.

The secret of this course is to cocoon with the warm and work with the cold!!!!

Course
Module 1 - Looks at treating muscles of the Lower body working specifically on 24 muscles in the legs, back and torso.

Module 2 looks at the more intricate muscles of the arms, shoulders, chest, neck and stomach. This course has been designed for anyone with the urge to understand more about using the cold stones within a treatment. It increases the range of massage techniques, helps with treating both chronic and acute symptoms and achieves results quickly and efficiently without the pain associated with deep tissue massage.

LaStone UK - Stone Sole

LaStone Stone Sole Connection - 3 days - £400 for non LaStone therapists and £300 for LaStone therapists
This is a fantastically compatible partner for your existing reflexology treatment. This course combines traditional reflexology with the healing powers of the stones and the application of thermo-therapy. Working with feet, hands and ears and using the unique LaStone energy principles and stone placement this is a treatment with a difference

LaStone UK - Access Course

Due to popular demand we have devised a two day access course for therapists who has attended courses with other Stone Expression companies and wanted to train with LaStone. This course is suitable to Stone Therapists that have attended a VTCT or ITEC course (or something similar. Unofrtunatley this option is not open to those who have attended a one day 'Hot Stones Workshop'

The first day explores the energetic principles unique to LaStone. Aspects such as smudging, Opening and Closing sequences, Chakra Placement, Energy Connections and Spinal Spirals are covered.

The second day focuses on the Stone Convection methods using alternating temperatures and the LaStone Treatment plan and bringing everything together. Attending both these days will take you up to the Original Body certification and enables you to work prescriptively with alternating temperatures. This is an intensive course adding lots of new skills to any existing ones! Our first course is scheduled for February 2010

Professional Development Courses
This course is the first professional Development course of it's kind to be devised. It is aimed specifically at College Lecturers / Instructors. It helps those responisble for teaching Stone Therapy with the necessary guidelines, skills and teaching outcomes necessary to deliver a Stone Therapy course successfully. We have devised material needed to deliver either the ITEC, VTCT or a City and Guilds Stone Therapy course. Please contact us for further information. Energetic Stones is a two day course aimed specifically at those who are qualified in Crystal healing or Reiki. This course explores the energetic aspects of LaStone and how they can be incorporated into a treatment. This course has been specifically designed for those without a massage qualification. Professional Development Courses
We are the first training company to devise a course aimed specifically at Lecturers. It provides those responsible for teaching Stone Therapy with the necessary guidelines, skills and teaching outcomes necessary to deliver a Stone Therapy course successfully. We have devised material needed to deliver all the new standards implemented within the ITEC, VTCT and a City and Guilds Stone Therapy course.

LATEST COURSE DATES:

We are running this course near Chelmsford, Essex from Monday 16th - 18th August. This course has been scheduled for all those Colleges that only need one or individuals trained in Stone Therapy as opposed to a department. Limited places are available, please contact us for further details.

LaStone UK - Crystal Energy Course

LaStone “Crystal Energy” is our latest course to be launched in 2010. It has been developed to give the LaStone therapist a greater understanding of how crystals work; and how they can be used safely and hygienically within a treatment. It builds on the use of Crystals within the Original Body and the Advanced Course with Mary Nelson.

We wanted to provide a practical way to provide Stone Walkers, the necessary information and guidance to allow them to understand how Crystals can be simply integrated into a LaStone Treatment. This course allows therapists an opportunity to incorporate crystals in order to bring harmony to the chakra’s and aura of the client within their current treatments. Emphasis will be given to aid a therapist’s development tuning into healing, building on the introduction of crystals, sensory perception and intuitive work. Course Content includes:
• The formation of crystals and classification of crystals
• A historical overview of the use of crystals within different societies
• How crystals affect the body (scientific overview)
• To tune in and carry out a meditation with a crystal
• To develop a greater understanding of the main chakras
• To understand how crystals can influence the aura, chakra and meridians
• To incorporate the use of crystals within the chakra placement of a LaStone treatment
• To incorporate the use of crystals within a Spinal layout
• To understand how to use a Pendulum within a treatment
• To incorporate the use of crystals within a treatment plan
